Where Is Engage In Palestine Located?

Engage in Palestine is located in the city of Hebron, along the main street called Ein Sara. Hebron is one of the most culturally rich and ancient cities in Palestine, located in the south of the West Bank and approximately 30km south of Jerusalem. Its governorate (which includes the city and surrounding villages) has a population of over 700,000 people and it is the largest city in the West Bank. Hebron is located not too far from cities such as Bethlehem, Ramallah, Jericho, Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv.

In addition to this, Hebron is a city on the frontline of the Israeli occupation and is the only city in the West Bank with Israeli settlers living inside part of the city itself. This makes Hebron a very important city, not only historically and economically, but also to see and understand the effects of the occupation.

Hebron Is The Commercial Capital Of Palestine

Today Hebron is known as the commercial capital of the West Bank while also being known for its religious significance and historical importance. The city is renowned for its rich cultural past, which is evident in its traditional arts and crafts, cuisine, and architecture. The Ibrahimi Mosque, a significant place of pilgrimage for both Muslims and Jews, is one of several historical and religious landmarks in Hebron’s old city, which itself is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

As a result, we offer several different intensive Arabic courses and programs, with a range of intensities such as non-intensive Arabic, intensive Arabic, and super-intensive Arabic. Our Intensive Modern Standard Arabic Program

Engage in Palestine’s Study Intensive Modern Standard Arabic Program is one of the best intensive Arabic study abroad programs in Palestine and the rest of the world. We offer you the choice between six different levels for your Modern Standard Arabic study, Beginner, Elementary 1, Elementary 2, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, and Advanced. This range of intensive Modern Standard Arabic courses caters to all levels and as we teach Arabic in either small groups (2-5 students) or one-on-one, there is plenty of room for your teacher to personalize and individualize the lessons. During our MSA courses, students will improve their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills and will learn about MSA’s formulaic sentence structure, expressive vocabulary, and artistic script.

Our Levantine And Colloquial Palestinian Arabic Programs

The intensive Levantine/Shami Arabic and Colloquial Palestinian (Ammiya) Arabic language programs offered by Engage in Palestine are also some of the best intensive Arabic programs abroad in Palestine. These programs are quite different compared to our MSA program because they focus on the types of Arabic that people in Palestine and the Levant (Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine) speak and communicate with on an everyday basis. Local Dialects are linguistically different compared to MSA (or Fus’ha) in grammar, sentence structure, pronunciation, vocabulary, and more.

We offer you the choice between four different levels for our local Arabic dialect programs: Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced. This makes our Arabic courses suitable no matter your level, and the one-on-one or small group class size allows your teacher to tailor your lessons to your level.

Summer Intensive Arabic Programs

Engage in Palestine offers the ideal intensive Arabic summer programs abroad for international students considering studying Arabic in the Middle East, Palestine, Israel, or close to the cities of Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Ramallah, or Tel Aviv. During June through September, you can choose between our special four-week summer intensive Arabic programs or our regular intensive Arabic programs (1-13 weeks). No matter which option you choose, our staff and Arabic teachers will provide a fun and welcoming environment and an immersive Arabic language learning experience with a very high standard of Arabic tuition.

Summer Intensive Small Group Arabic Classes

Summer is one of the peak times to study Arabic abroad and as such, we run additional special small-group four-week intensive summer Arabic programs, beginning on the first day of each month from June through September. While our short-term intensive Arabic programs throughout the year can last from one week up to 13 weeks (however long the student decides), our small-group intensive Arabic study programs last for four weeks each and correspond to one level per dialect (for example – intermediate 2 in MSA or beginner in Levantine Arabic).

This means that the summer is the perfect opportunity for you to take up to three of our best intensive Arabic programs abroad in Palestine across three months (90 days). There is a three-month maximum duration due to the 90-day limit of the Israeli tourist visa needed to study Arabic in Palestine.

What Levels Are Our Summer Arabic Programs?

We run our Arabic study abroad summer programs in each dialect that we teach, at each level. Each level lasts for approximately 80 class hours (about 20 class hours per week). Our classes are suitable no matter your level, and if you aren’t sure of your level, we will happily provide a free placement test for you.

For Levantine Arabic and Colloquial Palestinian Arabic (Ammiya), we offer the following four levels: Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced.

For Modern Standard Arabic, we have the following six levels available: Beginner, Elementary 1, Elementary 2, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, and Advanced.

Learn Arabic In A Small Group Setting

In each of our intensive Arabic classes, there are typically 2-3 students, with a maximum of 5 students. We offer private and small group classes to provide an immersive and supportive learning environment throughout your Arabic studies with us. This small class size allows our Palestinian teachers to tailor and personalize the lessons based on the student’s needs, abilities, and Arabic level while giving students plenty of personal attention and instruction. This allows students to build their proficiency faster than taking Arabic courses in a large group in an impersonal environment. Having a small group of fellow students in your class also allows you to practice with each other both inside and outside of the classroom and it’s also a great opportunity to make friends with similar interests.

Our Intensive Arabic Programs Build Your Skills Rapidly

Our intensive Arabic courses in the summer and the rest of the year are immersive and designed to build your Arabic skills and ability quickly. Each day (except weekends) you will have several hours of lessons, in addition to homework and extra time for your studies. Our English-speaking native Arabic teachers are friendly, and supportive, have excellent educational backgrounds, and are also experienced in teaching Arabic to international students. Together with your teacher, you will develop your Arabic proficiency, increase your vocabulary, and strengthen your Arabic grammar.

Outside of the classroom, you will be immersed in an Arabic-speaking environment both at our center and outside it in the city. You will have the opportunity to hear, see, and use Arabic in your daily life and will have countless opportunities to interact and connect with Palestinian native Arabic speakers in an authentic setting.

Spend Your Time In Palestine Learning More Than Just The Arabic Language

Spending any amount of your time with us in Hebron, West Bank, whether in summer or any other time of the year, is a unique opportunity to acquire not only the Arabic language but also the culture and customs that are entwined with it. All of our Arabic study programs include trips and tours to places in and around Hebron that are significant from a cultural, political, or historical standpoint, such as the old city of Hebron. In addition, you will have plenty of time to explore Hebron and other parts of Palestine and experience Palestinian culture and hospitality first-hand.

Study Arabic At Different Paces

Engage in Palestine offers overseas students Arabic courses at a range of different paces, to meet different needs, learning styles, and budgets. You can study Palestinian Arabic, Levantine Arabic, or MSA with us in a non-intensive course, intensive course, or super-intensive course.

Our non-intensive Arabic language programs include 12 class hours per week, which might look like two hours per day, five days a week, or four hours per day, three days per week. Our intensive Arabic courses have about 20 lesson hours per week, which means around 4 hours per day, five days per week. Finally, our heaviest course load is our super-intensive Arabic program which has six hours of Arabic lessons per day, five days per week. The choice between three different paces or intensities for your Arabic studies allows you to choose what works best for you.

Duration And Timing Of Our Intensive Arabic Programs

As one of the top language schools, Engage in Palestine offers overseas students a great amount of flexibility and students can choose which dates to begin and finish their Arabic language program year-round. Each course can last from as little as one week and up to 13 weeks and students have the freedom and flexibility to choose their program duration.

In summer, we offer a series of four-week small-group intensive Arabic courses in Levantine/Shami Arabic, Modern Standard Arabic, and Colloquial Palestinian Arabic. Each of these courses will begin on the first of each month, from June through September, and last for four weeks. These are particularly ideal for university or college students looking for study-intensive Arabic study abroad programs or summer courses in Arabic studies, especially Palestinian Arabic language studies.

Flexible Booking

We understand that whether due to a change of heart, unforeseen circumstances, or last-minute emergencies, plans can change. Therefore, we make all of our volunteer programs, internships, and Arabic courses flexible so that you can change or delay your plans.

All of our programs have flexible start and end dates and during the application process, you can choose when to begin and end anytime throughout the year for 1-13 weeks.
