Intensive Arabic Programs 2026/2027: We offer diverse Arabic language programs tailored to meet various interests and goals. Participants can choose from super-intensive, intensive, and non-intensive courses covering Levantine Arabic (Shami/Ammiya), Palestinian colloquial Arabic, and Jordanian colloquial Arabic. Syrian Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha). These programs are available year-round and range from 1 to 13 weeks.
In addition, the Center provides personalized individual courses, a Summer Arabic Immersion Program, and opportunities to learn Palestinian and Levantine Arabic while experiencing the vibrant culture of Hebron, West Bank, Amman, Jordan, and Damascus, Syria.

What Is Levantine Arabic?
Levantine, also known as Shami or Ammiyya (اللهجة العامية) due to the Arabic word for the Levant being “Sham,” is a central Arabic dialect alongside Egyptian.
Levantine Arabic is a widely spoken dialect of Arabic used in the Levant region, which includes Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Palestine. Also known as Shami or ʿAmmiyya (اللهجة العامية), it is the everyday spoken language of around 50 million people, making it one of the most significant and widely understood varieties of Arabic. Unlike Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), which is reserved for formal writing, news, and education, Levantine Arabic is the language of daily life—spoken at home, in the streets, and in entertainment.
When Do Intensive Arabic Programs Take Place?
Our Arabic immersion classes span from one week to three months (13 Weeks) year-round (Summer, Winter, Fall, and Spring). If you are looking for a concise or extensive intensive Arabic course in the Middle East, specifically in the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria, or are interested in the full cultural experience, we can easily accommodate you. You are free to choose the time and level of study to suit your needs, language ability, learning preferences, or other wishes.
Where Do Arabic Programs Take Place?
The Intensive Arabic Programs will be hosted at the Engage in Palestine’s facility in Hebron, Palestine, conveniently located just 30 kilometers from Jerusalem. The programs in Amman will be held in Jabal Al-Weibdeh, while the program in Syria will take place in Dahyat Al-Sham, Damascus.
Weekly Arabic Hours
We offer our Intensive Arabic Program at four levels: Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced. Students will receive 20 hours of Arabic per week, totaling 80 hours for the entire program.
Intensive Arabic Language Proficiency Level
1. Starter Intensive Arabic Courses
This course is designed for students with no prior knowledge of the Arabic language. It begins with learning the alphabet and progresses to reading, writing, and introductory conversational speech.
2. Intensive Beginner Arabic Courses
Beginner I and Beginner II are the core tiers of beginner courses. These classes are designed for learners who have a basic understanding of Arabic and wish to enhance their speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills.
3. Intensive Intermediate Arabic Courses
There are two levels of intermediate courses: Intermediate I and Intermediate II. These classes provide students with the opportunity to engage in Arabic discussions with native speakers, thereby enhancing their conversational abilities. We also work hard to improve students’ reading, writing, and listening skills.
4. Intensive Advanced Arabic Courses
Students at this level focus on maintaining and enhancing their speaking and writing abilities.
