Reasons to Visit Palestine in Summer: Palestine comes alive in the summer. With hot weather in the afternoon, a gentle breeze in the night, and numerous things to do all day long, there are many reasons to visit Palestine in the summer. If you are in the middle of planning how you will spend your summer months, here are reasons why choosing Palestine as your next travel destination is a good idea.

FACE THE HEAT

For some, the weather is a reason to come to Palestine in the summer. For others, it is a reason to stay away. The average temperature in July is 30,6 degrees. Depending on how much you like the heat and the sunshine will depend on how you feel about the toasty summer months in Palestine.

In the desert areas, it can become almost unpleasantly hot, but with bottles of water, sunglasses, sunscreen lotion, and hats to shield your face, you will be ready to take on a summer in Palestine. Especially if you do the most activities either in the morning or at the end of the day and try to hide from the sun during the hottest part of the day – between 12:00 and 15:00 –, you will be good.

COOL DOWN

In many of the older cities, such as the old city of Jerusalem and the old city of Hebron, stone passageways are built to protect travelers from the heat. Air conditioning is used whenever possible. If you aren’t a friend of hot weather, you can look forward to the cool temperatures that the night brings. Evenings carry a fresh breeze that will refresh you.

TEA

We know that for many, hot days in the sun are not their cup of tea. Maybe you instead prefer cups of sweet, black tea with mint or sage. The good news is that Palestinians are known for serving strong tea and Arabic coffee at any moment of the day and that doesn’t change in the summer.

Even though it feels counterintuitive to drink hot drinks when it is hot, this is exactly better for your body, as it does not have to work hard to make the drink adjust to your body temperature. The summer brings many excuses to sit down, cool off and drink a Palestinian coffee or tea.

FRUIT

The summer in Palestine is good for harvest, and fruits and vegetables are in abundance during the summer. Fresh fruits, vegetables, smoothies, and juices will make you ready to endure the heat or will cool you down. You can experience traditional Palestinian drinks and foods all-year round, but there is something special about tasting Palestine in the summer.

You can eat your food outside, under a starry sky, and end with shisha, while you feel the heat moving away as the nightly breeze makes its entrance. If you are one that enjoys food, then the food grown and prepared in Palestine will be reason enough for you to visit during the summer.

SEA

Another thing that will refresh you in Palestine during the summer is the sea. The Dead Sea may be a tourist trap, but when you are in the West Bank, you cannot pass up on a visit. You can float on the surface of the sea, feeling as if you are floating on the cool clouds above you.

Lather the famous dead sea mud onto your skin and enjoy a relaxing time by the water. Cities located along the Mediterranean Sea are also reasons to visit during the summer. Jaffa, Tel Aviv, and Haifa are three popular places to go if you want to enjoy beach life on the Mediterranean. You will come back to your country looking tanned, healthy, and relaxed.

THE CENTER

Another reason to come to Palestine during the summer, and especially to the Excellence Center in Hebron to volunteer, is that during the summer the center is at its best; you can find more volunteers than at any other moment in the year, as well as more Palestinian students than at any other moment.

You will have many opportunities to meet lovely people, practice Arabic, and learn about Palestinian life or about other cultures. The life in the city of Hebron will be relaxed, with many people being in the streets enjoying their holidays.

CONCLUDING THOUGHTS

The summer months may reel in the tourists, but from the warm days and cool nights to the fresh food, traditional meals, opportunities to visit the beach, and the peak time for volunteering at the center, we recommend coming to Palestine in the summer.

The area will be bustling with activities. Plus, there are some things that never change in Palestine, though the seasons do. From winter to summer, travelers can experience Palestinian hospitality and culture, as well as see some of the most famous historical sites in the world. There is no time like the present and with summer just around the corner, we welcome you to see, taste, and experience all the Palestine has to offer.
