The Summer Teach English Program in Palestine 2025: This program is open to both native and non-native English speakers. Whether you are an undergraduate, graduate, professional, or retired individual seeking an English teaching opportunity in the West Bank, Israel, the Middle East, or the broader Arabic-speaking world, this program is designed for you.
By volunteering at Engage In Palestine, you will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse community, assist Palestinian refugees, and teach English to children and community members. Additionally, your schedule will include studying Levantine Arabic, enriching your experience during your stay.
This summer internship is designed for individuals looking for a unique, short-term English teaching position; one which allows you to be immersed in Palestinian culture, politics and daily life whilst teaching community members aged 12+ on either a one-on-one basis, in small groups of 2-5, or in larger groups of 15-20.

NO Prior Experience in Teaching English
Our program is an excellent opportunity for both experienced English as a foreign language teachers and those with no prior teaching experience who are eager to explore the role in depth.
Whether you want to teach in villages and Palestinian refugee camps in areas such as Jerusalem, Haifa, Jaffa, Tel Aviv, Ramallah, Nablus, Palestine or Israel in general, this program is ideal.Our Palestinian students are eager and keen to meet new people, learn conversational English and familiarize themselves with other cultures.
When is the Summer Teach English Program in Palestine 2025?
All volunteer teachers interested in teaching English in Palestine are welcome to join our summer program in 2025. The program will run from June 15th to June 29th, 2025.
Where?
The Summer Teach English Program in Palestine 2025 will take place in Hebron, Palestine, located 30 km south of Jerusalem.
Where Will the Teaching of English Take Place?
Participants in the Summer Teach English Program in Palestine 2025 will teach English to Palestinian children, youth, women, and community members. Teaching will take place at Engage In Palestine, youth centers in Hebron’s villages, community development centers in the Alfawwar refugee camp south of Hebron, and local Palestinian organizations in eastern Hebron.

Teaching English Certification
Furthermore, although preferred, in order to teach English in Palestine, academic degrees (such as university teaching, college degrees or English degrees), are not necessary. You are also NOT required to have any teaching certification such as:

Who Comes to Teach English in Palestine?
At Engage In Palestine, we take pride in our commitment to inclusivity and international collaboration. Since the launch of our Teach English in Summer Program in June 2011, over 1,000 interns and volunteers from diverse countries, including the USA, Germany, the UK, China, the Netherlands, Canada, Spain, Italy, and Switzerland, have joined us. In general, the program is suitable for:
- University students who study English and wish to have experience in teaching a semester abroad to gain university credit
- Those interested in immersing themselves in Palestinian culture and daily life
- Students who are studying Middle Eastern, Palestinian and Israeli history or political science and social and cultural anthropology
- People who wish to work as an English teacher in the future
- People who would like to study and practice Arabic with native speakers
- People who are willing to help Palestinians learn conversational English
Support Available at Engage In Palestine
To support you in your role, we will provide English books and teaching materials for all levels, along with an English teaching manual. This manual offers practical guidance on teaching English to Palestinians, including suggested activities and specific cultural explanations.
More importantly, the center always has at least five Palestinian English teachers on its staff, who are there to support you and offer a helping hand when necessary. This is in addition to the hive of fellow volunteers who would be happy to assist you and give you tips and advice.

Accommodation
Engage in Palestine offers accommodation in either a Palestinian host family home or a modern, cozy, and fully equipped shared apartment, just a 5-minute walk from the center.
The apartments are designed for comfort and convenience, providing a modern and inviting space for interns to relax and unwind. For those staying with a host family, the experience offers a deep immersion into Palestinian culture, with opportunities to engage in family activities, attend local cultural events, and interact with the welcoming community of Hebron. This option allows interns to enhance their Arabic skills while gaining a unique insight into Palestinian home life and traditions.
